New Beginnings

Here we are - it's March already. The lighter mornings and evenings are creeping in and the scent of spring is in the air. Whilst the temperature outside may still be freezing though, the Bikram yogis of Liverpool have embraced the hot room all winter keeping your bodies hot and your minds clear.

Bikram is definitely a winter essential and it’s great to hear students calling it ‘an antidote for the winter blues’ and seeing so many of you swapping the lows of the cold season for the famous Bikram yoga high, together.

2013 has been an amazing year already with so many of you completing the 30 day challenge. Each and every person that took part is amazing for setting the intention, embracing the daily challenge and reaping the rewards.....go team Bikram Yoga Liverpool!

30 consecutive days of Bikram is a physical and mental challenge that accelerates development of practice massively – that’s why so many of January’s 30 day-ers now come to class 4 or 5 times a week. Bikram yoga becomes a part of you, your body craves the fresh oxygenated blood that heals your body and clears your mind. Challenging yourself every time you enter the hot room is essential and it is through that challenge that we improve in strength, flexibility and focus.

In modern life, our bodies, minds and lives are so congested that it’s not until we begin our Bikram yoga journey that we see ourselves for the first time and can start to realise our true potential.

Bikram Yoga Liverpool has attracted a beautiful and diverse group of people which continues to grow. I am truly grateful for each and every one of your happy, smiling faces. I thrive on your amazing energy which drives my own practice and renews my strength and focus every day.

I will be updating my blog regularly with latest news and offers as well as tips and guidance on how to develop your practice (including a focus on each of the 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises), deeper insight into the history of Bikram and looking into the spiritual aspect of hatha yoga. I will also be sharing my passion for raw pure food and living a healthy lifestyle.

I'm very excited to connect with you over my favourites topics so keep reading and if there’s anything you’d like me to focus on in particular, do get in touch, I’d be delighted to hear from you.

This week we’ll be looking at everybody’s favourite posture :0), Triangle, and giving you tips and advice on how to realise and release your potential in this pose.
